Above the factory grounds of Wens Jiafeng Food Co., Ltd. in Xianning, Hubei Province, 17,000 square meters of steel-structured rooftops are quietly witnessing the deep integration of traditional industry and new energy. Here, 4,194 high-efficiency PV modules from RedSolar are precisely arranged to transform idle rooftop space into a green engine generating 2.0432 million kWh of electricity annually.
This 2.28 MW distributed solar power plant, built by RedSolar, became a benchmark project of “PV + modern agriculture” from the moment it was connected to the grid—thanks to outstanding engineering quality. Faced with challenges typical in the food processing sector—such as load-bearing limitations and complex roof structures—RedSolar’s gold-standard EPC capabilities made all the difference. Custom mounting systems and wind-resistant designs helped overcome the area's frequent rain and strong winds, while optimized module layout minimized dead space and maximized installation efficiency per unit area.
Feeding green electricity directly into the food processing lines, the plant now meets nearly 50% of Wens Jiafeng’s annual energy consumption. Its grid power purchases have dropped from 4.2 million to 2.52 million kWh, mitigating blackout risks and generating over one million RMB in direct economic benefits. On the environmental front, the system reduces CO₂ emissions by 2,120 tons per year—equivalent to planting 116,000 trees—and saves 680.5 tons of standard coal, helping the company navigate international carbon tariffs with greener credentials.
As the first commercial PV project under Wens Group’s nationwide energy strategy, this initiative goes beyond energy substitution. RedSolar’s high-temperature, high-humidity solution is now being replicated across the group’s agricultural and food processing bases. From engaging local construction teams during development to providing long-term tax revenue from clean energy, the project creates a multi-win scenario for businesses, government, and communities alike.
Every sunlit inch of rooftop industrial space holds potential for traditional industries to transform. With steel structures as canvas and PV modules as ink, RedSolar is helping script a new chapter in Chinese modernization—where “PV+” empowers diverse sectors toward a more sustainable future.
